Student Staff Timesheet Instructions
A timesheet should be an accurate listing of the actual dates and times worked. Dates and times will get checked for accuracy and then approved by the MAC Supervisor. All times listed must be pre-approved by your Supervisor prior to working those hours. This document is the student's record of hours worked for the time period.
The following information will be checked on the timesheet for accuracy:
- No hours for a payroll period other than the one reported
- Partial hours reported in 0.50 increments
- The 20 hour per week limitation (40 hours during authorized vacation periods)
- Correct mathematical calculations
- Class schedule information completed
- Timesheet signed by student (and supervisor)
- All corrections on timesheet are initialed by student and supervisor in ink
- No paid lunch, the Fair Labor Standards Act mandates a half-hour (30min) unpaid break be provided for every 6 hours worked per day
Unpaid Internship or Independent Study Timesheet Instructions
Please submit a MAC Internship // Independent Study Timesheet to the Office Assistant by the end of each month. Dates and times will get checked for accuracy and then approved by the MAC Supervisor. All times listed must be pre-approved by your Supervisor prior to working those hours.
Students are required to complete a monthly time sheet to receive academic credit for the services they provide.
If you are earning 2 units, you must log at least 60 hours by the end of the quarter to receive academic credit. If you are enrolled in 4 units, you must log a minimum of 120 hours by the end of the quarter.
Paid Student Assistant Timesheet Instructions
Students are required to complete a monthly timesheet to receive monetary compensation for the services they provide. The MAC Supervisor will submit the student's monthly hours to the payroll reporter or directly to payroll.
Regular Student Assistant Positions
The Student Assistant Payroll Calendar lists the pay periods and paydays during the current academic year.
Federal Work Study Positions
The Work Study Payroll Calendar lists the pay periods and paydays during the current academic year.
MAC Student Staff are paid around the 10th of each month. Monthly paychecks will be available for pick-up in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Dean's Office SB-207.
Students may request paychecks be directly deposited to the student's bank account by contacting the Payroll office at SH-103 to request a Direct Deposit authorization form. Students are still required to pick up their monthly pay stub.
